According to the new policy, a member of each ration card holder family will get 5 kg free grain every month.It will also include wheat and rice along with lentils, sugar and soap.The government has given special attention to the quality of food items and has decided to use modern packaging and storage technology.This will make both the quality of the food and shelf life better.
Provision of ₹ 1000 cash assistance
The most special thing about this scheme is that now ration card holders will also get ₹ 1000 cash financial assistance every month.This amount will go directly to the beneficiary's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).The special thing is that this amount will be sent to the account of the woman head of the family so that women empowerment can be promoted.With this money, families will be able to fulfill the necessary expenses like medicine, clothes and children's education.
Start of digital ration card
The government has taken the initiative of smart ration card by making technical reforms.The new card will have the QR code, so that the card can be identified and verified immediately.This digital system will help prevent fake and duplicate ration cards.Ration dealers and officers will be able to check the authenticity of the card easily from the mobile app.
Subsidy on LPG cylinder
In view of the rising prices of LPG, the government has announced LPG subsidy for ration card holders.Eligible families will be given 6 to 8 cylinders at subsidized rates a year.Women registered under the Ujjwala scheme will get additional discounts.This step will be beneficial especially for rural women as it will get rid of traditional stove and positively affects health.
