Earlier, every person used to get only 5 kg of wheat and 5 kg of rice.Now the government has increased it to 7 kg of wheat and 7 kg of rice.Apart from this, now gram, sugar, cooking oil, salt and millet will also be given in ration.This change will improve the nutrition of poor families and will be beneficial for the health of children and women.
Connection with Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme
The Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana has also been added to the new rules.Under this, free gas connections and cylinders will be made available to eligible families.This will provide relief to rural women from smoke diseases and will also save their time.Also, the use of clean fuel will also help in environmental protection.
E-KYC and digitization
Now it has been made mandatory for all ration card holders to do e-KYC.This will remain link to the Aadhaar card so that fake beneficiaries can be removed.With digitization, people will be able to see their ration information on mobile.This will reduce the crowd at the shops and the system will become more transparent.
