Concern of fines and late returns
If the income tax return is not filed by September 15, taxpayers will face late fees and penalty.According to tax managers and experts, there will be an option to file a belated return, but additional fine will also have to be paid along with it.Not only this, there can also be problems in tax credit verification.
Difference between last year and this year
Last year, more than 7.28 crore returns were filed on time i.e. 31 July. But this year the speed is very slow.As of September 11, only 5.47 crore returns have been submitted.Experts say that the main reason for this is the late release of forms and technical problems of the portal.
Demand for professional organizations
Several associations of Chartered Accountants and Tax Professionals have demanded the government to extend the deadline.
Problems of release of forms late
Tax experts say that ITR utilities came very late this year.
